Hosea's children
The word of the Lord that came to Hosea son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel. This is how the Lord began to speak through Hosea. The Lord said to Hosea, Go and take a wife of prostitution, and children of prostitution, because the land has gone entirely to prostitution, turning away from the Lord. So he went and took Gomer, daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son. And the Lord said to him, Call him Jezreel, because in a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel, and I will bring the kingdom of the people of Israel to an end. And on that day I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel. She conceived again and had a daughter. And God said to him, Call her Loruhamah, because I will no more have mercy upon the people of Israel, but I will utterly take them away. But I will have mercy upon the people of Judah and will save them by the Lord their God. I will not save them by bow or sword, by battle, by horses or by horsemen. Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived and had a son. Then God said, Call him Loammi, because you are not my people, and I will not be your God. Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which can't be measured or counted. And in the place where it was said to them, You are not my people, it will be said to them, You are the sons of the living God. Then the people of Judah and the Israelites will be gathered together and appoint themselves one head, and they will come up out of the land, because great will be the day of Jezreel.

When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea: Go and take yourself a wife who goes whoring, and children of whoring — because the land has gone completely whoring, away from the Lord. So he went and took Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and had him a son. And the Lord said to him: Call his name Jezreel. Because in a little while I'll settle up for the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and I'll make the kingdom of the house of Israel stop. And on that day I'll break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel. And she conceived again and had a daughter. And God said to him: Call her Lo-Ruhamah — Not Pitied — because I won't pity the house of Israel any more or forgive them at all. But I'll pity the house of Judah and save them by the Lord their God. And I won't save them by bow or sword or battle, by horses or horsemen. Now when she'd weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and had a son. Then God said: Call his name Lo-Ammi — Not My People — because you're not my people and I won't be yours. But the number of the people of Israel will be like the sand of the sea, that can't be measured or counted. And in the place where it was said to them, You're not my people, it'll be said to them: You're the sons of the living God. So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son. And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel. And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
