Esau's household
This is the record of Esau — that is, Edom. Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite, and Basemath daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebaioth. Adah had Eliphaz for Esau, Basemath had Reuel, and Oholibamah had Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were Esau's sons, born to him in Canaan. Esau took his wives and his sons and daughters and everyone in his household, and his livestock and all his animals and everything he'd built up in Canaan, and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob. They had too much to stay together. The land where they were staying couldn't carry them both, because of their livestock. So Esau settled in the hill country of Seir. Esau is Edom. This is the record of Esau, the father of the Edomites, in the hill country of Seir.
