Stand fast in liberty
It was for freedom that Christ set us free. So stand firm, and don't get yourselves tangled up again in a yoke of slavery. Listen — I, Paul, am telling you that if you get circumcised, Christ will be of no use to you at all. I will say it again to every man who gets circumcised: he is under obligation to keep the whole law. You who are trying to be put right by the law have cut yourselves off from Christ. You have fallen away from grace. Because through the Spirit, by faith, we are waiting for the righteousness we hope for. For in Christ Jesus neither being circumcised nor being uncircumcised counts for anything. What counts is faith working through love. You were running well. Who cut you off and stopped you obeying the truth? That persuasion didn't come from the one who calls you. A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough. I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. But the one who is stirring you up will bear his judgement, whoever he is. And brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offence of the cross has been done away with. As for the ones unsettling you — I wish they were even cut off.

You were running well. Who cut you off and stopped you obeying the truth?

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
That persuasion didn't come from the one who calls you.

I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. But the one who is stirring you up will bear his judgement, whoever he is.

And brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offence of the cross has been done away with.
And I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still chased? Then the offence of the cross has stopped.
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
As for the ones unsettling you — I wish they were even cut off.

The flesh and the Spirit
Brothers, you were called to freedom. Only don't use your freedom as an excuse for the flesh, but serve one another in love. Because the whole law is fulfilled in one saying: Love your neighbour as yourself. But if you bite and tear at each other, watch out you are not finished off by each other. So I say: walk in the Spirit, and you won't carry out the cravings of the flesh. Because the flesh craves against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. These two are at odds, so you can't do what you would like to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, quarrelling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, factions, envy, murders, drunkenness, wild parties, and things like these. I am warning you, as I warned you before: those who do such things won't inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and cravings. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not chase empty glory, provoking one another and envying one another.

And these are against each other, so you can't do the things you'd want. But if you're led by the Spirit, you aren't under the teaching. Now the works of the flesh are plain, which are these: adultery, sexual sin, uncleanness, loose living, idol worship, sorcery, hatred, arguing, jealousy, angers, fighting, divisions, groups, envyings, murders, drunkenness, wild parties and things like these. About these I tell you before, the way I've told you in time past too, that the ones who do things like this won't inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control. Against ones like these there's no teaching. And the ones who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its feelings and wants. If we live in the Spirit, let's walk in the Spirit too. Let's not want empty glory, stirring each other up, envying each other.

Let us not chase empty glory, provoking one another and envying one another.
Let's not want empty glory, stirring each other up, envying each other.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
