Servants and contentment
All who are under the yoke as servants should count their own masters worthy of all honour, so that God's name and his teaching are not blasphemed. And those who have believing masters shouldn't think less of them because they are brothers. They should serve them all the better, because those who benefit from their service are believers and dearly loved. Teach and urge these things. If anyone teaches something different and doesn't agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching, he is swollen with pride and knows nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in arguments and quarrels about words, and out of that come envy, conflict, insults, evil suspicions, constant arguing from people with corrupted minds who have lost the truth, imagining that devotion to God is a way to make money. Keep away from people like that. But devotion to God with contentment is great gain. Because we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can take nothing out of it. So if we have got food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are set on getting rich fall into temptation and a trap, and into many foolish and harmful cravings that drag men down into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evil. Some, reaching for it, have wandered away from the faith and run themselves through with many sorrows.

To him be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
