Still worldly
Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly — mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? For when one says, I follow Paul, and another, I follow Apollos, are you not mere human beings?

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
For when one says, I follow Paul, and another, I follow Apollos, are you not mere human beings?
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
God's field, God's building
What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe — as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labour. For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved — even though only as one escaping through the flames. Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for God's temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe — as the Lord has assigned to each his task.
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labour.
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work.
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved — even though only as one escaping through the flames.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst?
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for God's temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
All are yours
Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness; and again, The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile. So then, no more boasting about human leaders. All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future — all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness;
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
and again, The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.
And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
So then, no more boasting about human leaders. All things are yours,
Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future — all are yours,
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
