Bringing the ark
David consulted the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. David said to the whole assembly of Israel: If this seems right to you, and if it is the will of the Lord our God, let's send word everywhere to our fellow Israelites still living throughout the land, and to the priests and Levites in their cities and pasturelands, asking them to join us. Let's bring the ark of our God back to us, because during Saul's reign we neglected it. The whole assembly agreed, because the plan seemed right to all the people. When they reached the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza reached out to steady the ark because the oxen stumbled. The Lord's anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he reached out to the ark. Uzza died there before God. David was deeply upset because the Lord had broken out against Uzza. That place has been called Perezuzza to this day. David was afraid of God that day and said: How am I meant to bring the ark of God home to me? David did not move the ark into the City of David. Instead, he took it aside to the house of Obededom the Gittite. The ark of God remained with Obededom's household for three months, and the Lord blessed his household and everything he had.
And when they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah put out his hand to hold the ark, because the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the Lord was lit against Uzzah, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark. And he died there in front of God. And David was upset, because the Lord had broken out against Uzzah. So that place is called Perez Uzzah right to this day. And David was frightened of God that day: How can I bring the ark of God home to me? So David didn't bring the ark home to himself to the City of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. And the ark of God stayed with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed-Edom and everything he had.

So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.

David did not move the ark into the City of David. Instead, he took it aside to the house of Obededom the Gittite.
So David didn't bring the ark home to himself to the City of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
The ark of God remained with Obededom's household for three months, and the Lord blessed his household and everything he had.
And the ark of God stayed with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed-Edom and everything he had.
